For my english class I have to write a paper on a movie genre. Its supposed to be like an extended definition of the genre. I chose to do war movies for my paper, but since it has to be 5 pages and you cant use any electronic sources I dont know if ill have enough information to fill all 5 pages. So my question for you folks is... what are some elements of a war movie I can talk about in my paper? Or what is anything you can think of that makes a war movie a war movie? anything is appreciated, thanks.
Man, I'm sorry, you picked a crappy "genre" to write about. War movies are fairly basic with their approach. I'd recommend something a little more intriguing, such as classic French noir, or the 70s and 80s sexploitation films. Horror would be a good genre to break down.
there were very few genres to pick from. my professor doesnt exactly have a rep for having good assignments.
Well hell boy, it depends on who's looking at it. LOL We from Vietnam were all declared baby killers and druggies. Everyone in Afghanistan is a hero. Hell, today if you put on a uniform you're instantly declared a hero. OK, seriously... elements of war? Political. Social. Economic... Commraderie Horror. Uselessness... Tradgedy Honor and Duty. and... you have to have a token Hero. Right and Wrong etc etc etc.
