I think John Eberhart stated it like this "Hunting ILL and Iowa was like entering a different world" Come hunt some of those "other" states and then let me know I have hunted KY, OH and MI. It's a world of diffenrce and has very little to do with deer, and has everything to do with pressure.
Well yes an area with more mature deer ones odds increase, but pressure has everything to do with not only how deer acts in an area. The pressure in the NLP on deer is way different than SLP. It has to do with hunting pressure, a 6.5 pressured mature buck acts different than a 6.5 low pressured buck. Lets take man hunting out of this, a mature deer living where wolves live will act differnet than a mature deer where they have no predators. I have seen it and hunted it. SLP in MI rarly got pressure in late 80's and 90's. Hunting the NLP was completely different than hunting SLP in those years. It has less to do with "states" and more to do with pressure. Less pressured deer move more. Pressure areas(not states) have many other issues low pressure area do not have to deal with. Give me low pressure area with less deer anyday of the week What makes the DMU's that are bow only so good in KY? Less pressure = Less bucks killed(more bucks), more mature bucks you have, the more they compete. The more they compete, the more they move. Good hunting ground will always be about 2 main things IMO 1.Habitat 2. Pressure(hunting) Great habitat with high pressure is going to get you a lot of antlers nailed to a barn wall
MONSTER BUCK for sure!! I think I saw Buckeye and little Bucko drive by on the highway too. It was the black truck that almost ended up in the ditch.:D
Dontcha just freakin hate it when you go to bust balls and geographically you're.............confused. :D
I love how he's standing in the field VERY aware of his surroundings, while the other bucks have their heads buried feeding.:D Deer don't get like that by luck. What a STUD!
