This is why I love hunting Louisiana. You just never know what might be lurking out there.

Note: Not my deer, but taken in Louisiana in the past week.

That deer was probably transplanted there. It was probably originally from IL. LOL.

You sure your buddy didn't make a roadtrip that he didn't tell ya about!?

It only stands to reason, those deer were probably chased south by one of our persistent Colorado Mt. Lion. He scooped the two bucks up from Illinois and forced them to flee farther downhill. I'm sure ya'll will be seeing more of this as more and more lions start vacationing north of the south.

    It's my theory anyway...nice deer!

    No surprise out of me!!

That picture there Bobby just goes to show not a sole here knows exactly what they have around. Example of that would be the area I hunt. One mile north of me there was a giant buck shot the 1st week of the gun season here. He had an 8 point frame with 3 other tines else where I guess. I haven't saw the picture of It yet but from what I hear It's a 180" class buck. That buck I'm sure has been In the woods I hunt a time or 2.

Wow, incredible bucks! Yep, there's always a bruiser somewhere that pops up...with no explanation. Maybe Huck is right! LOL

In VA this year a guy near Roanoke shot one that might (should) break the bow record. Its a hammer, and out of an unlikely area.

Age, allow a buck to get past 3.5 and some amazing things happen.

Great bucks from both you guys, thx for sharing.

    I am a believer in Ghost bucks:eek:

I absolutely believe in ghost bucks too. They are out there the key is finding them and hoping you can access where they are. The second part is the biggest trick around here, legally anyway.

Germ is right too, age is the major component of bucks getting to be big. Once they get into the 4.5+ range they really start to blow up.

    Great bucks from both states.
