I finally finished my ghillie for some photography, predator, turkey and still hunting on cold windy days. I should say finished for the most part...A ghillie is an on going project. You either LOVE them or HATE them. The next step is a mud bath and flat dry to give more of a earthy texture and ratty appearance. I also have to give it a little bit of a haircut to thin it out a bit. These things are awesome for photography!!! I have had birds land right on me and rabbits/turkeys within inches.
Feel free to ask any questions if your curious about these things. I learned from a good friend who serves proudly as a scout sniper.
The very last picture is not mine, but it shows exactly what mine looks like in a standing position. These suits are made to break up the human shape and form. When I am using it I tie in natural vegetation to keep up with changing colors in the environment. The finished ghillie picture is a basic pattern to add natural vegetation to. If you ever make one stick to 3 or less colors...More colors in them then that will defeat the purpose. Take Care and hunt safe!

I bought the base for that outfit like that, but have made quite a few by attaching nylon netting with thread and glue.

That looks good. I bought one years ago and never hunted in it. Thing weighed about 10lbs and smelled like musty yarn. :(

This one weighs 5# and the smell of burlap and jute has never alerted any game I have hunted or photographed. It's definately not a wet weather outfit that's for sure. If it gets wet dry it out good!
