I was hanging a stand today I found out that right at the base of the only tree I want to use is a yellow jacket hive in the ground. Anyone ever tried to get rid of them at all??

Might not be the most effective way, but sure is the coolest I've seen!

But seriously though, I just had to remove a hive in the ground that was next to my tree, I just bought some insecticide and waited until evening when they were less active. I just sprayed the ones at the base of the hole and then dumped the rest of the bottle in. They haven't come back

It's most likely going to cool down in your area in next few days anyway, so I wouldn't worry about them.

Gas and matches or foaming spray. I hate those things. I'm allergic to them.

X2 a cup of gas down the hole at night no fire needed. I have some every year one spot or another. I like the Beach trees for a ladder stand lots of cover and they hold leaves well into the fall so do the yellow jackets
