I too feel hung-over this morning just from meeting a couple buds for a few dark beers and a burger last night. When I was younger it took a lot more to make me feel this way.
Couldn't agree more. If I sit around and drink beer and drink no water I am hungover. If I drink water and take two Asprin and feel ok waking up. If I drink a 750ml bottle of Vodka with 4 Rock Star Recovery drinks, slam a glass or two of water and go to bed I can get up at 7am and mow the lawn, all at the ripe old age of 40.
I did not even drink that much. I think it was only 6 beers, now these were higher ABV % beers, but still. I felt like I was dying this morning. I stole one of my wife's Ensures. I don't get drunk that often, the last time was actually last New Years, and I felt horrible the next day because I got absolutely smashed that night off cheap champagne and vodka soaked gummy bears. That was to be expected. But last night? 6 beers?
At 34, I think its funny how one shot of Polish Blackberry Brandy gets me giggling and then I fall asleep. Such a Nancy.
Seems like it used to affect me more when I was younger actually. I can horse down however many beers now and be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning ready to go. I remember the days when I was younger and partied all night. My dad beating on my door at 5 am to work on the house for 12 hours the next day. Some days wished I wasn't existing on planet Earth. One day in particular roofing the garage when it was 90 degrees out after a long night........ OUCH. Projectile vommiting! Now.. after having a few the night before it doesnt' seem to phase me.
Good topic I just had the scare of my lifetime this past year. I'm 35 now and it all started last Super Bowl. I got completely wasted and woke up w the worst hangover of my lifetime with a serious pain in my chest. It lasted for a week. It was the worst when I layed down to go to bed every night. Chest pain, heart racing and my jaw killing me. Not to mention I could not sleep. Then my left arm starting aching and hand cramping basically all the ingredients of a heart attack. Went to the drs and got tested for Lymm disease. Negative. Still had the issues for months went to drs again did a EKG and a bunch of blood work on thyroid and such all negative A few months go by and go to drs again seeing a new dr. Finally get told I have bad acid reflux. Jesus 3 times it took meanwhile I was sh^*ing my pants. I'm in good shape, exercise, but I was terrified. This also sux I can't eat anything good. And the only thing that really helps my stomach is apple cider vinegar the over the counter drugs like prilosec did nothing. But what drives me nuts is I can't drink anymore 3 or 4 beers that's it. A six pack makes me feel like I'm dying. Basically any kind of normal food sets offs the symptoms!!!!
I've pretty much quit drinking any cheap beer like budlight, miller lite, etc. I can drink a couple and feel like crap the next day. That's why I love my New Castle so much. Doesn't get to me like the other stuff. I do realize New Castle is crap to some of you guys but it treats me well. I also enjoy this little jewel.
Hook, it happens to me if I have not eaten much or hydrated enough during the day. Throw down a glass of water with every third beer and you will feel better the next morning. Mostly because you will be too full to drink too much good beer. lol
Geez, I can't believe you young punks whining about getting old and not drinking like you used to. You haven't even had fun yet. More practice!! That's what you wussies need. Don't make me show you up!!
Vaginas can take a pounding. It's the balls that are weak and sensitive. Having said that, I've never been able to drink more than about half a wine cooler without tapping out. I have the bad form of 'Asian Flush'. I not only turn bright red, but get a killer headache almost instantly. Oh well.... more for you guys.
I'm changing the old saying "From the Mouths of Babes" to "From the Mouth of Christine" Classic right there!! Now where in the hell did our smilies go dammit?
Im fairly young at 33 and I drink more than most people during the week. I work out of town constantly and used to drink a few beers every night. Over time even 2-3 beers had me feeling not so great in the morning. Now I drink makers mark and I can get more buzzed but feel fine in the morning. That struck me as odd but not nearly as odd as the fact that I rarely drink on the weekends.
