This will be my 3rd year bowhunting and i'm interested in getting into self filming. I'd like to get a setup for under $200. If I like self filming, i'll spend more later just don't want to break the bank immediately. Any suggestions?

Under 200? Mounting your phone on your bow. Sorry but self filming gets expensive quick.

You definitely can get into it for $200. I did a few years back. You can pick up a refurbished cam on eBay. Get a camera arm, and a cheap Chinese made fluid head.

Just don’t expect high quality footage from the camera. Perfect for learning before you make a big investment.

Exactly! (I highly suggest buying a stronger battery for it, $20?) Now find a cheap fluid head, and I used a muddy camera arm for like $50, And your self filming!!

Well, I guess they don’t make the smaller version of this one I used to use.
I do highly recommend this arm with a fluid head. You will get smooth level panning, which can make up for the lower end camera.

This is close to your budget and not horrible for a starter cam.

You will need a arm and can probably find some on eBay this is something that you can put on any bow hanger.

You can get a tactical backpack at Walmart for around $30 bucks.

Do they make a camera arm that attaches to treestand surround?

I'm not quite sure what you mean? You wouldn't want it attached to the treestand, because treestands move when you shift your weight, and that would move or shake the camera.

All about how good of quality you want, do you want to buy new or used, and being patient.
I got a canon g30 with muddy pro for I think 800. That was 2 years ago. Hawk hunting has a nice tree arm. You will need a good fluid head and external mic helps also. The latest thing I got was a lanc and it made my turkey harvest on film a lot easier. Good luck, definitely adds to excitement
