Has anyone ever used an artificial Christmas tree to conceal their stand? Thought about drilling the tree itself to put some branche up, but probably wouldn't be a good thing in the long term. So strapping some 2x4's would probably be the best way.

You'd be able to bend the branches to form windows for shooting and/or viewing. The hard part would be matching the contrast of you vs the tree color to disguise movement and such.

Seems simple enough but no sure if its really that practical.

I have a couple of buddies that have done that years ago and sometimes still do. It works. Deer don't know that maple trees can't grow pine limbs.
