Well, I am now a little over a month and a half into my season. I have the whole amount of 45 acres to hunt this year(private land). I have seen a total of 8 deer (all does and yearlings) since opening day. I have hunted probably an average of 4 to 5 sits a week since opening day. Been changing stand areas almost daily or rotating completely thru the week.(Lock ons, Ladder stands, and my climber.) Our rut was according to LDWF suppose to kick in this week. I have yet to see signs of it. Our weather has been dry and hot for the most part. (70's and 80's for highs most days)

I may be taking up fishing if things do not change.

Nah, guess I just needed to vent. Be back up at 0400 in the morning to try again.

    Jeff, you figure correct.

Sliver, I am looking all the time for land to lease. Just have not found what I need. And the public land around here is screaming with yahoos who shoot at things that move in the bushes.

Virginia, I basically stick to doe bedding and travel routes during the rut. Pinch points and funnels, as well as some terrain features as well. Why do you ask?

Jeff, one parcel is 40 acres contiguous, but surrounded by hundreds of acres of timber. Lots of areas for bedding and lots of inside corners. 25 or so acres has prime natural food source. Lots of natural and man-mad pinch points as well.

I am just asking to maybe brainstorm with you a bit. You have a topo map of your hunting grounds? LA, I will be honest with you, I can setup on deer all the time, but I cannot hit a broadside of a barn with my recurve. So I can help you get close to deer, just don't listen to my shooting advice. :)
