I am thinking of getting a Recurve, about 40#, for target practice, and maybe to hunt with. One that wouldn't be too expensive. Any ideas. I used to have a Bear 57#, I gave it to a cousin in Michigan who collects them.

If you're just looking for a budget target shooting (not competition) bow and plan to use another bow for hunting, I'd just look for an old Bear (my bias disclosed below), but they are inexpensive and plentiful but decent. If your looking at brand new equipment or competition shooting I'd take a broader look.

Im not sure, but I actually have a recurve that I no longer use that I am trying to sell. It is 50# at 28" draw. It has never seen the woods, I got it to shoot for fun. I have the bow which is a take down, arrows with weight tubes and broadheads. Case, arm guard, shooters glove and case. Also the stringer. This bow is in great condition. It has the bear hair arrow rest.
