This will be the 3rd year in a row I will have found a dead buck after one of the firearm seasons on this same property. First two years were 1 1/2 yr. olds, this year a decent buck. Would have been a real nice in a year or two. Pretty sure its the neighboring landowners who more than likely just see brown and start unloading, then the deer make it to the property I bowhunt. It gets frustrating. Found him Friday evening after I noticed a dead deer from my climber. Coyotes had started eating the hindquarters.

A buddy of mine found two huge bucks dead after the first firearm season on his property as well. Don't flame me, but I'm really starting to hate firearm season.

That's really too bad, he looks cool. Are you gonna Euro him to do him the justice he serves?

    Depends on the state.
    Check your regs.

That does suck Cougar  One of our members on our new lease found a nice tall Rob buck dead about 100 yards off the road during firearm season. It was most likely road shot and the cototes had found it. There was also a big bloody spot in the middle of the gravel road not far from him.

Did ya ever wander through our forums, in early November, when every third post is "I hit one..never found him"!

Think about that.....Just in case you were wondering how firearms shooters felt about bowhunters..... ;)

In WI I had to contact the warden before I cut the head off to let him know about it. He then sent me a possesion tag stating the circumstances. Its a good idea to give them a call just to cover your butt.

Beat me to it! It's a horrible feeling but it happens to all of us, gun and bowhunters alike.

Bummer Cougar. I have some neighboring land owners that do the same thing. I have found quit a few gut shot deer that were never recovered by them. It really ticks me off!

I dont know about you guys but how many people do you talk to say ''well i missed one opening day, people think deer should fall or act like it is hit in some way or they dont go to the last spot they saw the deer only to feel they missed the deer only to keep hunting.

so many deer are just not looked for or shot and turn out to not fit the antler restriction's set by there state. just my 2 cents

For those wondering, I called my local office today. They said not to worry and bring the head up to the local state land and they would issue a tag, and they did.

Geesh, I am never posting a thread like this again.
