Don't wait any longer. Stop procrastinating and get your stuff in order now.

Every year you see it the week before the season opens. You see gobs of people running to Walmart and heading to their bow shop to try and fix things that they should of been dealing with over the summer.

"Uhhhhhh, I need a new string"
"My BH's hit 3 inches to the left of my FP's. What do I do?"
"I need a dozen arrows made up right away"

We have all seen them. Then they complain to the shop tech that the season starts in 3 days and they should be able to "get it done in time".

Do yourself a favor and get you stuff in order NOW.

Get your BH's mounted up, spin tested and shoot each one and verify they are flying true with a particular shaft.

    Make sure everything is tight.

Check your rest and sight. Is your fall away moving freely? Is your WB in good shape?

Are there any squeaks or noises that you can silence?

Is your release in good working order?

    How does your D-loop look?

Is all the serving on your bow in good shape?

Is your peep staying straight every time you draw?

Does your range finder have a decent battery in it?

    Just a friendly reminder. :)

Pray your bow limb does not crack 3 days before the season starts, so have a backup bow ready too. I didnt have one but with the help of some fine fellow members they stepped up.

I am getting there. Bow is broadhead tuned out to 20yd. I will tune it to 40yd in the next few days. Everything is tight and silent, All my stands are in place except one that I will be moving next week. All my late season stand locations are mapped out, my hidey holes are planned and will be planted in the next month, camo will be coming out of the tote for washing, spraying down with scent killer and covered in baking soda in a month or so. All calls will be checked to make sure they are operational and I am sure I have a few more things to do. All in all I am confident about the upcoming season.

    Hows your prep going?

My bow should still be sighted in from where I left it last year so whats the big deal? I mean, I did buy new arrows that are about same size but some are longer than others. Also, I bought some of those new Rage broadheads that fly with my fieldpoints so no need to take a chance at dulling a blade just to see them shoot with my FPs. My string was frayed pretty badly too but nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix.

    I'm ready! :D

I'm just starting the transition between recreational shooting/pre-season shooting to fine tuning everything.

I am replacing my cables from Vapor Trail next week. Tuning is done long ago. Just need to verify everything. Going to get my arrows refleced (feathers) and then check each BH to each shaft. Then resharpen the BH's.

I currently rebuilding (for lack of a better term) my summit climber. New paint, new straps, new rubber, etc (pics to come later when it is done).

The serious stuff starts now. :ninja:

Haha, believe me, I work at Cabelas in the archery department, and this happens every year like clockwork.

Hunting bow got new strings and tuned two weeks ago. New arrows mounted with broadheads and spin tested. Going out tomorrow to check stands and cut some lanes if needed.

just finished adjusting a new sight and that is pretty much it. along with prepping your equipment it is also important to tune yourself. Get out of the house and go walk around the woods for a while, if you are tree stand hunting climb the stand a few times, practice shooting from the stand, and most importantly, if you can try to find about 180+ of sandbag weight and practice your drag for a few hundred yards.
