They are responding in SE Michigan! Just got done rattling a light sequence this morning and was hanging up the rattles when I looked to my right and saw a decent 8 point running straight it. Stopped behind me at 40 yards and disappeared walked into a thicket. 10 yards closer to me and he would've been dead.

I have never had good luck rattling. Seems like the few times I've tried it deer run the other way.

I think I hear bucks rattling in the distance, should I go check or stay put?

I was rattling blind then, but also rattled this morning with a different buck in sight trying to get him in closer. He was interested, but he wouldn't break away from the doe he was with.

It's definitely working in southeast Missouri too. I've called in several bucks the last few days.

I tried rattling blind this evening, but had no luck. My hit list buck did show up later, but did not get close enough for a shot.

My stepdad just rattled and killed a nice 8 in a few hours ago! Rattling is so much fun, I'll be carrying mine the next couple of weeks.

I don't normally rattle blind, usually only at bucks I see cruising a distance away. This morning I got a feeling that I should bash them together at first light and 3 more times after that during my morning hunt. I got no response.
