I happen to work for a local law-enforcement agency near Sacramento California. Tomorrow the Sacramento Police Department is going to release their findings from the internal investigation into a shooting that happened approximately one year ago. From the information I have, the officers are not going to be charged with any sort of a crime. And I have a feeling Sacramento is going to get turned in side out. The protests that immediately followed the shooting were mostly peaceful but pretty big in size. I have a feeling the peaceful part is going to go away tomorrow.
Well I'm pleasantly surprised and happy to announce the citizens of Sacramento held it together and there was nothing significant I heard in the news from angry protesters regarding the verdict. Sac PD and the DA's office did a great job with an 80 minute press conference fully televised regarding the details of the shooting and why they choose to not charge the officers. I think this had a lot to do with a non-violent reaction from citizens. Aside from a few "Thin Blue Line" flags being burnt, nothing noteworthy was reported. Hopefully this will help show the rest of the country causing wide spread destruction is not necessary to be heard.
Sad that one has to worry about idiots running amok, and trying to torch the place down. Glad nothing bad happened.
