Just wanted to see if there are any GA bowhunters out there. If so let’s hear about your season for far! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
There aren't many of us on this site. I have had two opportunities to bring down a doe and botched both. I hunt exclusively on public land and have been hunting a new location that I was not able to scout before season. The reason for this is that I was given permission to hunt a farm with some huge bucks, only to have this revoked a week before season started, as the landowner sold the hunting rights to someone else... Been a bummer so far. How about you? Where are you located?
This season has been rough. I’ve taken 1 doe and have not seen any shooter bucks. I️ have some giants on camera in my club and on some land behind my house. The biggest buck I’ve seen while hunting was a 6 point. I️ missed a doe a few days ago. I️ don’t know how I️ missed I️ just shot over her back. And I’m located in Glynn county. What about you? im in Harris co, which has huge deer, but this year is my first season and i have been hunting in Alabama. been very slow going. It has been slow for everyone i have asked. My uncle who has been hunting since he could walk said he has not had a season like this in 20 yrs....
The deer where I’m from don’t get too big. The biggest buck I️ have on camera is probably 115 inches. That a big deer for down here. The average buck weighs 120 pounds Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
well about 6-10 miles from my house is some major hunting areas owned by some big time hunters. bill jordan of realtree,, jeff foxworthy, the callaways etc all have huting farms here....and their deer get massive. on most hunting properties they can still get pretty big though. my spike i shot was 105 lbs....(alabama though) usually smaller than harris co deer. when i dropped my spike off at the processor the guy in front of me shot a buck that was 260 lbs. shot it 4 miles from my house. next year i am going to try and get on one of the leases nearby but being my first year i didn't really know how to go about it. those are not dressed weights btw.....
I'm in northeast GA and my season has been pretty slow so far. Mostly small bucks on their feet. Sent from my Z831 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
