It just dawned on me that one of the bucks i recently have pics of is very similar in rack character other than age difference to a buck i was watching in 2004. these two bucks were caught on cam a couple hundred yards apart. look at how they are shaped the same. Im calling geneticaly related. what ya think?? Big Red as i called him always dissapered about this time of year. This 2.5 from this year would look similar in a couple of years.

Nope, i have 7 pics of him in that one season 2004. i seen him the next in 2005 several times but i had alot going on when my house burnt down. I tried a couple of times to get pics but he was always moving around and i did not suceed. My buddy got a pic of him one mile away in 2006 and we have not seen him since.

Well....there might be a good chance Big Red Version 2.0 is walking around your neck of woods. ;)

BTW, Version 1.0 was a stud. Love the main beams and tine length.

Bols i cant tell you how many hours i spent looking for his sheds. I think he left the area totally before the season began and showed back up when the beans were comming up. He was certainly a stud though. maby mini me will make it a coupe more seasons. :d

They definitely look very similar to me. We've had a multitude of bucks over the past few years in our hunting area with very similar looking racks from year to year. Some antlers we've found years apart that we know aren't from the same bucks, but you put them up next to each other and you'd swear they were. Genetics are a funny thing in the whitetail world. My buddy duke actually informed me not too long ago that much of a buck's antler makeup will be determined by the genetics of his mother, and not his father. Interesting fact!

Yup, they look like they carry some of the same genes. It's hard to say for sure with displacement and everything, but either way who care? Those are some dandy bucks, especially the older one.

Looks like you got a Great Gene Pool THATS FOR SURE! I have also seen bucks shot in the same area that had similar racks.Small and deformed LOL. That 04 buck would be a Buck of a Life time for me,What am I sayin they both would! You guys kill me with these pics of big bucks. They just will not let them grow around me.A 2 1/2 year old is a good one here.
    Some Day (I hope)
