So I haven't got a new trail cam in a long time, I still use my old 35mm DC non Typical but that is a real chore. So I broke down and ordered a 2 pack of DLC Covert II's. They arrived today and even though I got them to use at my main hunting grounds which is like 2 hours away I am putting them up by my house in a small woodlot I hunt until I make the trip to the other spot in two weeks.

Anyway I can't wait to see how this type of camera does and how the pics turn out. I'll make sure to post some up asap.

This is the local spot and some of my old DC Non Typ pics from there:

I had a DC-100 for years, it was my first camera. Great camera at the time!

Well the cam works good it took a lot of pics, I am going to change the settings to increase pic quality and set the cam a little farther away from the intended target area. Only bad thing was the racoons were all over this block and the deer showed little interest in it. I plan on using 30-06 plus protein at my new site as I have always had good luck wit that. The food blocks seem to attract a different crowd.

Anyway a couple of samples, nothing earth shattering.

I don't use those blocks anymore, but I used to many years ago before I started using mineral. Now I know how long they stay intact...not long:d

I doubt the SG is any better than most others. From what I have read the SG the DLC Covert cameras and the new Bushnell are all almost identical and all use Boly Media cameras/equipment. The above pictures were taken on the lowest image quality setting, I plan on experimenting with theother settings to see how much difference you can see in the pics. One thing I do love is the size and ease of use.

The new Bushnell offers the 2 yr warranty so that is definitely something I might be checking out soon, they retail for 199 but I have found them for 189. Me and my hunting partner might order 2 more of the Covert II's because we found them for $419/2-cameras, 1-remote, 4-2g Memory cards, 16-AA batteries, and free UPS. Pretty sweet deal, but only 1 year warranty. If i can find a similiar deal on the Busnells we might get those to have the extra 1 year coverage.

Some pretty good deals at this site:

Really cool pics. I think you'll find that even though your 35s were really reliable, I know because I had several for many years, the digitals are just so much better in just about every way. Keep the pics coming.

    Blessings.....Pastorjim
