I don't get all the hoopla on this. 2 adults have a child and actually raised it and because they are lesbian it's considered awesome? My wife and I raised two articulate and intelligent children and so have many others, yet no one makes a big deal out of that.
Are you serious? The only reason he needed to stand up for his parents is because the majority of this country says its "wrong", and not possible to raise a "normal" child.
I don't see the big deal in it as well. Goes back to the question if people would stand up for Tim Tebow if he was muslim? Only reason this is a big deal is because he had gay parents. We only jump through hoops for minorities any more.
Like the Tebow situation, this is another myth. Minorities have far more disadvantages, than advantages. Some majorities make a big deal out of the few advantages minorities have, and then make it appear they have the upper hand. Minorities "jump through hoops" everyday of their life. The only reason this young man was speaking so proudly about his parents is because the majority of this country still believes having gay parents is "wrong". He was defending his parents. Apparently thats okay, as long as your parents aren't gay.
I was wondering the same thing. I have 3 kids and none of them are a like in a lot of ways. They are good kids, honest and are kind... but after that... day and night in personalities. Not sure which one falls under normal but one of them has to !!!! Tim
For the record his point is that he is not a great kid. His point is his parents do not get recognized and have the same rights as Parents that are male and female. He brings up his record to show his parents did an oustanding job and he has become the man he is today because of his parents. If the roles were reserved and a kid with Mother and Father gave a speech in congress about any subject and listed his/her record and it was as good as this kids, people would be singing the kids prasies and what a great job his parents did.
I agree neither of my kids are normal, they are both unique. Like me that have good attributes and bad. For example my son would rather you die of hunger before he shares his pop corn at the movies
It's not that. I don't see the big deal in being gay and raising kids either, so why do we have to make a big deal about it. That's my whole point. I see this video posted all over the internet and everyone is just falling all over themselves after they watch it. I just don't see the big deal.
The government always talks about the separation of Church and state yet the gay population still does not have rights, such as marriage, because of that exact reason. It says in the bible that marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman and because of this it is outlawed in many states…. I am a Christian and do not believe in gay marriage or relationships. However with that being said, legalizing it will in no way shape or form change anything in my life. Just because it is legal does not mean I am going to run out and marry a dude. Even though my personal beliefs are against gay marriage and relationships I do not feel it necessary for it to be illegal. From the speech by this young man it sounds like that couple did a better job than some “normal” couples I know.
If I'm reading between the lines correctly - Vito and Germ want to have children together and reap the tax benefits of such consolidation.
