Seriously, one of the worst pains of my life, maybe the worst. Took a little OC spray to the eyes today. GOOD gosh almghty!
I always hate OC spray certification days.....never understand why you have to get sprayed before you can carry it on patrol with you....They say it is so you know what it feels like....I totally disagree.....if that were true they would shoot you before you can carry a weapon...so I think it is for there amusement......
Man Militaryhunter, it sure felt like I was shot right in my eyes. I think I spent 45 minutes deconning myself in a shower like a baby!
The best thing I found to use is before you hit the water to decon is to use some Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo and scrub the crap out of your eyes....it helps get the OC out of your eyes...some people say use milk but that has never worked for me....Just be careful when you wake up in the morning and take another shower...you still have the chance to reactivate it....
I got maced in high school once. It was a Senior/Freshman thing I guess. It was after football practice waiting for my ride. The doors to the school locked once you went outside and I had to walk/feel my way around to the other side of the building so I could get in through the office. I've been shocked by a cow fence, cattle prod and dog collar, but never tazed. Hoping I can avoid that one in my lifetime.
Agree... after further review I learned to understand some training that seemed pointless at the time. Some seemed sort of stupid..... like gas mask and CS exposure etc. Yup, I can carry 500 rounds but they don't let me shoot anyone to see what that feels like in training. LOL Most training has a point.... gas exposure on purpose is just hazing.
I hear you David, however I think the training we did was extremely realistic and worthwhile. Painful as heck, but worth it to me.
Yes BUT..... if you end up in a situation where someone is spraying you with pepper spray or CS... you probably should be shooting bullets. LOL I'm the greatest supporter of training. I tell people who ask about combat. When it happens, it was like you're in a play. You're just an actor playing out his roll. It really seemed that way. The more severe it was... the more training took over. For some that wasn't so and you found out who they were real fast. For most... they acted out their part.
Doesn't sound fun at all !!!! I think I would rather be tasered then have that sprayed at me !! Course it would be cooler to traser someone for practice !! I can think of a few people I would love to test one of those out on !!! Tim
HAHA That is awesome! I just did my OC spray certification on Tuesday! It really sucked I know your pain. I think one of the main reasons for getting sprayed/ tased (Which I would rather get tased 5 more times than to get sprayed again) is because if you have to go to court after tasing or spraying a person you can say you know what it feels like and their actions justified getting sprayed/tased.... Dont know if that is the real reason but it makes me feel better lol... And yes Baby shampoo helps the most... nothing works... but it helps lol
Brett .... you actually volunteered for that????? WHY??? Did you ask them to kick you in the balls, too????
I agree wholeheartedly with David... When I was in MP school, they gave us the full-on gas treatment. They also had a big oak tree right outside the exit door, which as you can imagine, many people ran square into attempting to exit the building...
Nearly 1.5 years. The process started last August and I graduate on January 12th. FUN times today. I got CS gassed in a gas chamber. GOOD gosh. Sevi, are you in a police academy?
