We must not forget the increased amount of ethanol in gas as well.

We didn't exactly have a bumper crop of corn last year.:what:

    Something to note

Taxes on a galon of gas average about .48 cents a gallon. .18 cents for federal and around .30 cents a gallon for state and local taxes.

    $10 on a 20 gallon fill up. Nice:what:

All I know is these unfounded rises are getting old.... I filled up about 10 days for like $2.95 per gal, heard something about rising gas prices on the news last night and on the way into work today noticed some stations in the $3.90's.... A $1 raise with no real disaster, reasoning - its stupid... IMO - it's the normal summer cash grab/shaft by the oil companies.... Wonder how many billion they will make this quarter....

And as Hook pointed out - gas prices sucked under Bush too....

The oil companies don't set the price.

That's like b itching at the farmer because corn prices sky rocketed.

Went up 30 cents yesterday and another 20 cents overnight. Blaming it on a refinery near Chicago is BS because one refinery or two in the Midwest would not affect the nationwide prices. I need gas for the lawnmower, but am seriously considering sheep or goats (they are cheaper).

Yeah, we have jumped up to as high as 3.999. High gas prices hurt the middle class more than anyone else. Rich/High Income people don't like it, but it's not like they aren't going to be able to put food on the table because of it. Poor people probably can't afford to be driving around anyway, but your middle class working man is the one taking it in the shorts.

We have a vacation to Yellowstone planned around The 4th of July. Probably going to be putting in about 3000 miles total. Luckily my wife works a second job that pays her very well and we have money put back for the trip, but it just sucks when you think about how much money we will be burning up in that engine.
