How is it that gas prices have been FAR WORSE while Obama has been in office than when Bush was in office and you rarely hear anything from the media, when they constantly pounded on Bush for this...anyone hear anything from the media about Windfall Profit Tax since Obama has taken over?

Could it be an attempt by the administration to take our minds off the AP, IRS, and Benghazi?

I am willing to bet that if you averaged out the price of gas during Bush's term and during Obama it isnt even close and I will give odds too :)

National average actually peaked during the Bush administration.

well yeah, that's because it was low during Bush's first term, but it got this high during Bush's second term, so I don't know why you are trying to blame this all on Obama

When gas was around $4 in 2008, oil was $150 a barrel. Its near $4 again and oil is around $100. Something is fishy with that math.

I think it is simply that there are far more f'd up issues in the news currently. Our local news still talks it occasionally

Because the media wants high gas prices. Just as the Liberals do. Higher gas prices means less consumption, less driving, more car pooling, as well as people buying more fuel efficient vehicles. These are all things they have been supporting and advocating for. So I don't think they are bothered one bit about high gas prices. They only complained about it because it was a way to attack Bush.

The media love fest with Obama barely talks about the IRS and Benghazi you actually think they would bash him about gas prices. Man if this was a republican in the white house with all of this we would never hear the end of it. Unbiased media does not exist anymore.

This all happened right after Katrina, not sure where to get it but if you could get post/pre Katrina pricing you'll have it. Katrina flooded and knocked off a lot of the oil rigs and coastal refineries. Or so they say, but prices have only dipped into the $2 range twice I believe. they realized the public would not change their habits and gas was still selling at those prices. If we'll pay it why lower it?

I think the same thing will happen with the ammo situation. Never bought it before, but they said .223/5.56 was 30-35 cents a round. Currently best pricing on most "online" retailers is 65 cents a round and supply is increasing. I hear of brick and mortars selling it cheaper, but Ithink we've seen a shift in the price for ammo as we did with gas.

Since when do Presidents control the price of gas? I don't credit them for low prices or blame them for high prices. The only component of the price a president is remotely tied to is gas tax. But even that would be voted on by Congress. Gas prices peaked during George W's 2nd term but it had nothing do with him. Gas normally rises in price in the Spring. Oil futures traders know demand for gas increases in the Summer so they start buying oil futures contracts ahead of it in anticipation of the price rise.

I know the answer...Liberal Media. CNN, NBC and ABC are not going to do anything to make this administration look too bad.

He could authorize offshore drilling and the keystone pipeline. So yeah he can effect supply which effects prices.
