Ok first Tom's spotted in a few days . In the field off our porch at 7pm. They were moving up
hill so I stepped out and yelped. The 3 Toms stopped and looked, then moved a little closer. I clucked, putted then yelped again. Dang! I had to duck down to get back into the house because the three started running at the house. They hit our wood line behind the kennel then went back into the field. I watched them walk into the corner of our woods headed to the back of our land. Though that was 7:15 and it's still light here at 8:12 so how far did they go??? I'll be out in the cardboard blind in the rain tomorrow with a jake I'll make tonight with last years fan wings and beard. I'll have the fan at a have the fan at a half strut to make it look smaller and I'll push the beard into decoy to shorten it. i will sew the wings so they cover decoy like a saddle and looks like he's dragging his wings. It s windy so that and the hens should be a good draw with bit of movement ,can barely wait I hope they stayed and roosted.

OMG. It was absolutely perfect until I blew it all to hades. First Tom Gobbled on the roost 20 yrds.from blind. I heard him pitch down but couldn't see him then out about 65 yrds I see a turkey but couldn't tell if it was him or not . I finally glassed a thin beard soaked tight to his chest. He was having none of the Jake decoy and walked off. Then the other two gobbled behind me. Before I spotted them, they were on top of me coming in fast. And I couldn't move. One literally walked under the blind. I tried getting the gun out the window and heard putting. Couldn't tell if he or the other saw me and I couldn't see them. Next thing I know he runs out from under the barrel putting . I shot right and high of him. He turned and flew right at me and over the blind.
Wow rooky mistake getting flustered, nice long fat beard too. It is just pouring out and the wind is blowing. Getting a tad scarey with some questionable trees around and rains blowing in blind. Green patch to rt of tree is what I killed. ..lol

Geez now I have to sit here thinking about it..literally had 2 Tom's under me and no kill that's got to be a first. I honestly can't believe this tarp and card board roof has made it 9 yrs with out leaking and it's flat to boot.

Things to do so I'm back home. Wow my turkey choke is really tight at 12yrds. Found the base ball sized hit and then the plastic wadding beyond that obvious clean miss but I'm thinking not by much. Here is a pic of Tom decoy in setting and the decoy bag is where shot hit. 20190510_071011.jpg
