I think it's great that there is a manufacturer willing to provide clothing already infused with a permethrin or some other chrysanthemum copy. However, any clothing you own can be made into the same thing. Products like Sawyer's Permethrin Insect Repellant can be sprayed on any clothing and it will last through six washes or 42 wearings, whichever comes first. I sprayed my scouting clothes with some and I haven't found a single tick on me. While I appreciate that the bonding Gamehide is using provides a longer duration than something like the spray on Sawyer's brand, at some point, you'd still need to recharge the Gamehide clothing to keep it effective.

The repellent in the Elimi Tick line of clothing is good for up to 70 washes, which is the normal life expectancy of any garment.

So you're saying my clothing will only last through 70 washes? :)

But seriously, it's great that the Gamehide Elimi Tick line of clothing provides protection from ticks and any other form of insect affected by permethrin or similar analogs. The point still remains that if I want to have the same protection (albeit at a tenth of the duration as gamehide clothing) I can take any article I currently own (even my $5 t-shirt from walmart) and spray it with something like Sawyer's tick clothing spray.

I'm not trying to belittle Gamehide's product or your evaluation of it, I just want people to know that this protection is available regardless of the label on their clothing. In general, I believe Gamehide makes quality garments and anyone interested in them should definitely take a look.

Yes, those are 100-200 seed ticks crawling up my leg. Don't worry...happens all the time where I hunt and I have safeguards in place. :D

I sprays all my cloths with Sawyers Prermethrin and even re-coat every few washes.

Purchased back in May as an outfit Gamehide ElimiTick set consisting of TSK socks, TSP pants, TST long sleeve shirt. Pant sizing chart suggested if you are at the upper end of a size, order next larger. These pants have built in expandable waist band and do not require the jump in size as suggested. I called Gamehide to return the too large sized pants but was told try back later when someone else could authorize RMA. I had to call back to get the RMA and at which time it was MY COST to ship the pants back. Wore the outfit but had to stop wearing the TST. Dark Polyester long sleeve does not work well in humid 85-95 degrees weather. TSP polyester pants now fitted properly but soon noted the material developed unsightly pilling /fuzz balls. This drew any beggar’s ticks and lice/ burdocks within walking distance. The TSK socks are not suitable for field use. Even though I purchased the largest size for my size 10 feet, the sock are thin, short and tight and are not for out in the field use. The socks are more a kin to dress socks, not outdoor socks. I can say I did not get any ticks the few time worn outdoors but I didn’t get any ticks as the ElimiTick outfit hung in my closet either.

I always wonder why people with 0 posts randomly search for 7 year old threads and bump them. Good review though Kenty.
