Sheesh, seeing all the pics everyone is posting has me jacked up. I finally get to start hunting hard this weekend. Even though our season opened up September 20th, camp had me too busy to hunt and last week was spent trying to get my wife Jill and Joey and Casi Rott bucks in Ontario.....to no avail. A combination of wolves and weather kept us from seeing much for deer, but such is the ways of big woods hunting. Joey did crack a nice wolf, but I'll let him post those pics.

I'm stuck here in WI until tomorrow morning when I head back to Ontario. One or two days of work and then its 5-6 weeks of hunting HARD. My buddy John Herrmann and I head deep into the bush on Friday for a weeks hunt in the middle of no where. Besides two other guys filming with us, we'll be the only people hunting this 20 square mile chunk. Then John and I head for IL to hunt in Brown/Pike Counties around the 27th to hunt for a week or so. We'll be meeting JZ and Duke for a few days on the same property.....it should be a blast! Then, its back to Ontario until my brother and I leave for Alberta on November 15th. Alberta should be a blast, as I have tags for whitetail, mule deer and recently found out I've got a tag for elk in the same area I hunted last September.....which I've been dreaming of those mountains since I left. After that, who knows...there's a slim chance I may hit SK again this year.

All in all, its going to be a great fall and hope to meet some great people along the way!!!

Nope. Its usually just buy the export permit and you're good to go. Ontario's is $30 for deer and bear.

I'm outta here in a few minutes! Good luck to all, have fun and be safe.

Just got back home to WI last night. Spent 8 nights in the deep bush of Ontario chasing ghosts. In 7 days of hunting we only saw 2 8s that would have gone around 100". The deer were sticking very close to their core areas. Its big woods and their bedding and feeding areas run together. If they don't want to move, its almost impossible to kill them up there.

I'm heading out Tuesday morning for a week in IL and then back to Ontario late next week to finish off the Ontario season that ends on Nov. 15. The rut will be rockin when I get back and it'll be a totally different hunt.

Good luck to all and keep layin em down!!!

I own a fishing and bear hunting resort in Ontario. Its a ton of work, but it gives me all fall off.

Good luck in Illinois Dan. Deer are really moving in the eves lately. And I think the bucks are really getting interested in the does as of the past 8 days or so.

Looking forward to seeing you in about a week.
