Who cares if he's king? He could have been pushed off a castle ledge or out a window by Sansa (kind of like Bran was pushed out of a window). It would have put some irony into it. Or he could have been lured somewhere and then surrounded and murdered by multiple people who wanted to get him off the throne. Sansa is partially blamed for the murder anyway and it was done in public already so it could have been more creative in my opinion. The Red Wedding put the breaks on because now there's not much of a rivalry between the Lannisters and Starks. Maybe I didn't explain better, I am ok with the Red Wedding and the Purple Wedding, the problem I have with is the timing. I know it probably happened this way in the books, but I just think it happened too soon, I just wanted to see the war develop more and see more happen between Rob and the Lannisters. I disagree on there being no heroes, Rob Stark was clearly the hero role, as was his father. I'm not saying the hero always has to live but it was definitely the role he played while he was alive. Rob and his father were noble, weren't corrupt, and they didn't kill to gain power. If Rob wasn't a hero then Joffrey wasn't a bad guy, lets put it that way.
Oh, this story is just getting started and there are many many sets in this Game of Thrones. Don't get the false sense that we've already reached a peak in any rivalry...some probably have yet to even emerge in truth. A few pieces have been taken off the board so far but there are still a BUNCH of players in this game and they have a long, treacherous road ahead of them. The war of the five kings isn't really even over yet, the Lannisters just think it is. John Snow...well John (correction) has at least quite a bit of future ahead of him yet so there are a couple tiny spoiler' ets for you.:p
Very interesting...I'm watching through to the end either way. I just like to disagree with Hooker Just kidding Hook, kinda
Finally picked up a bit in last nights episode!! Little finger.......... Tyrions "champion"..... awesome!!!!
Yep, but like I said before, all that drama happening all at once really slowed things down. It's taking 3-4 episodes to get to this trial with very little happening other than bickering at the wall and Little Finger making that annoying queen fly, wish they tossed her son down with her.
That's your opinion. It's been hard waiting and waiting to see this trial get going. Nothing has really happened until last night.
Wasn't it just last or the one before that Littlefinger revealed that he was behind basically everything? The trial already happened last episode...do you not remember Tyrion's awesome tirade? And the scene with Oberyn and Tyrion in this episode was one of the best of the entire series. I have no idea what you want from this show? You complain about too much happening, then complain about not enough happening
No, don't confuse me saying something different should have happened with "not enough happening". Those are two very different things. The trial isn't even finished did the fight happen yet? No. The fight is part of the trial and it's taking forever to conclude. I do agree Oberyn and Tyrion's conversation in the jail was awesome and one of the best parts so far. Loved it. But it wasn't much of a "reveal" I think it was pretty obvious he had something to do with it and worked with Granny Tyrell.
They had the trial, then Tyrion request trail by combat. This episode was Tyrion trying to find someone to fight for him. You will get your fight next episode. No clue what this means
Right, trial by combat, so the trial isn't finished, right? Where's the confusion with what I said? No clue what it means? Not sure what to say. If we already knew he was involved, how is revealing that he did something so exciting? We knew he was involved a few episodes ago when he said that the poison was in Sansa's jewelry and since he wasn't there when it happened it means he either did it or was involved. So nothing really new other than actually saying it himself. I guess I just wish they wouldn't go so fast and then so slow, instead of having 10 episodes a season, if they can do it in 8 and make them all equally exciting they should do it.
The story seems off pace because it's tv and because they don't want to over run Martins current books. They are dragging some of it out trying to keep from catching up to the books. I think they could do a better job of that by other means but that's just me. They have cut a few characters out from the books, if it were me I would have kept those and slowed the story down by having a few episodes featuring those characters. Strong Belwas was a pretty cool character that they cut out of Dany's story arc that they could have used for instance. The mountain was the coolest reveal of the latest episode in my opinion. That guy they cast for that role is freaking huge....he's 6'9" and over 400 pounds. That fight should be pretty interesting....Oberon is supposed to be a BA dude in battle....he better be, lol.
Well...you have only been waiting for the trail by combat for 1 episode then. Oh wow...I guess you weren't paying attention. I wasn't talking about his part in the death of Joffery. I was talking about how he manipulated Lysa into killing her husband, Jon Arryn, then accusing the Lannisters. Which is the entire reason why Ned Stark left Winterfell to go to King's Landing, which was the start of basically everything that has happened since in Westeros. Yeah...THAT was a pretty huge reveal.
OHHH, yeah, you are right about that for sure. That was a big reveal. Sorry, I didn't catch onto what part you were saying. And I was paying attention, you didn't specify what it was you were talking about.
Wowza. What an episode! I am liking Sansa's character more and more, she's learning what it takes to survive. It's funny how you can hate Littlefinger one minute and then have respect and like him in another. It will be interesting to see what happens to Tyrion.
Yeah, that was crazy. I saw it coming though, any time someone does a monologue during a one on one battle, it usually ends up going south for the person talking.
Holy freakin crap that was a crazy ending!!! I am kind of glad i haven't read the books at this point. It's more fun not knowing what is going to happen. The longer he kept talking, the more i thought this cant be good. You could see that look on Tyrions face at one point as well. Sansa is turning in to one of my favorite characters. She is really coming in to her own and starting to own it. And then I died laughing at Arya's scene.
