I've had and still have several. But that being said, mine are all cheapies bought on sale. They have a place but that place is usually where I can get a deer to stop! So my question I've seen Cuddebacks in action (cousin has 3) is there any camera that compares to the cuddeback for trigger speed and reliability. To me it seems they have come down in price, now that the market is saturated. So I can buy the one "I" think is best. So let's hear why yours is better..
If I were buying one right now it would probably be a Cuddeback. I think you can get one of the Capture models with flash not IR for about 200 or less. I just don't feel like buying someone else (thief) a camera right now. That is the ONLY reason I do not use them.
saturated is an under-statement. Anyone seen the latest Cabelas archery.. like 8 pages of trailcams. There are more trailcams in there than treestands and boots combined. I'm in the wrong market.
I like Covert Trailcams, but admittedly I am closer than just a customer to this company. No stake in it, just good friends and good people. Small fast reliable cameras for less than most comparable models made by others. Battery life rocks too, on AAs at that.
If your just talking trigger speed the Reconyx takes the cake on that one by far (1/5th of a second). The thing Is though, there too damn spendy!! The Capture Is a good camera Bob, I've heard all good things on the flash model. I've heard not so good things on the IR model, the night pics aren't to pretty.
I have the Capture that is the one I will be buying from now on. For the price and seems to catch pretty much everything.
PM Germ, he has the IR. The night time pics are the only Issue that I know of with that camera. It takes the pics but there a bit grainy looking at night.
I have the new Cuddeback Capture Flash, it is my 5th camera, and it is my favorite so far. Ive had it out since March and the batteries are still strong, and it has a respectable trigger time (not lightning fast). The only issue is the yellow tint the pictures get at night, but it is way better then the IR model. From this week's pics: And this is the yellow i was referring too:
