Well, it seems that alot of guys have been creating mock scrapes this year and setting their game cameras over them in hopes of capturing photo's of bucks working the scrapes. While this is a good game plan, lets not forget that nothing beats the actual thing. Monday morning my buddy and I set up my Reconyx over a well worked scrape on a field edge in hopes of getting an idea of what type of bucks were on that side of the farm. We checked it Wed after our morning hunt and had over 80 photo's. Yesterday my buddy checked the camera for me (I was at my other buddies watching the football games) and when I got home my memory card was waiting for me. From Wed afternoon till Sunday afternoon we captured 314 photos, and the amount of different bucks visiting the scrape is crazy. We captured another big buck that we havn't got a photo or all year or even spotted while scouting, spot-lighting, or hunting. There are still atleast a half dozen other bucks on this farm that we havn't captured photo's of on this scrape as well, maybe this week we will get some new bucks. Anyways, just a reminder that if your intent is to get an inventory on the bucks in your area, a mock scrape will work but the real deal is better. Enjoy the pics (I sure did)
Great pics.. The other day while heading to my stand I came across 3 well worked scrapes, next time out I am going to hang a camera and see what I get as well
Very nice! Love that 8. That little "kicker" off the right G2 is neat. So when are we going to see pics of you behind that guy?:D
Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. Jim.. I really like his main beam also, I'm not sure why it grew that way but it looks pretty cool. A few years ago a 120" class 8 point was shot off this farm with a main beam that sagged... when the taxidermist started working on the mount he found that the bucks skull had been cracked and it healed that way. Sparrow.. that 8 is one of the three shooter bucks that we have spotted on that farm... here are the other two..
