I've heard plenty of stories about people grunting in deer, so I was wondering what game calls or grunt tubes do you use?
I have tried all the popular ones out except the new Buck collector. This year I will give the Primos roar a try since my True talker broke for the 3rd time.
I like using the M.A.D. buck growl grunt call. I don't use the growl feature but love the fact the call produces a loud, deep grunt.
Has anyone used estrous bleat calls? I was looking at them the last time I went into the shop to buy arrows.
i have used fawn distress calls, doe bleats, doe grunts, etc etc. seems that deer in certain areas are more vocal than others, but i have had luck with all of them i currently have the primos hands free and the buck roar. I don't use the snort wheeze unless i am desperate, have yet to get to that point
Rod Benson grunt call is my favorite. I have a Primos buck roar and a Mad buck growl that get used some. I've used can calls before but have had very little luck.
never had luck with a grunt tube. but the can call has work very very well for me.. ive been able to turn several deer completely around..
I've had some luck at least getting a buck's attention (if they're in sight) with any grunt call really. For much of my early years, I did a lot of blind calling, and I'm not a fan of that. I did bring in a buck that I shot back in high school with a primos can call. Other than that, I don't call much.
I use the River Valley Game Calls Deer Flute. I also believe that darn near any grunt call will work if a deer wants to respont. I like the Deer Flute because I can adjust it without taking it apart, and can do fawn bleats, doe bleats, all the way up to mature buck grunts all on the same call with a quick adjustment.
I use the flex-tone and really like the fact that I can make any of the deer calls by just pressing down on the call in different areas, I also like the true talker for that same feature and the true talker has a wooden reed that won't freeze in the cold like the plastic reeds may.
