So I have a question for all of you, how do you go about findng new hunting ground?

I was always told to dress up nice, knock on doors of prospective land, be polite and even offer to do chores around the place if they look like they could use some help.

Here's the deal, by my college there is a ton of awesome farmland that harbors some big bucks. I would guess most of these farmhouses get at least one person looking to gain access, so I will have a little competition for some of the better looking land.

Do you guys have any secrets for setting yourself apart from any other Joe that wants access to a certain piece of land? What would you do if you were me?

I don't think there's any need to dress up, but you definitely want to look respectable. An offer to help around the farm can sometimes do the trick. Just be sure to be polite, honest, and respectful, no matter what their response is.

I would think that a college kid who is away from home and looking for someplace to hunt would have a fair chance at getting onto some private ground.

Don't get discouraged if you get turned down the first few times. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll find a place to hang a stand.
