I got a pack of these today...I go on line and start reading about them and am stunned when I see so many people saying they are horrible and dull and "I lost three deer cause they were so dull"...I'm willing to bet these poor guys bought the"preseason practice head" thinking it was the hunting head.

Maybe G5 should package these practise heads in an orange package or even coat the blades orange....bummer to get theses things in the hands of someone who doesn't realize what he has and wounds a bunch of deer....

Since I am on the ProStaff, I have been using these heads since they came out, I have had mo problem with them. Hav I lost deer, yep we all have and it is due to a poor shot placement, and shot in the heart lung combination and you've got a dead deer on your hands. Period.

the design limits the sharpness but it is not a problem when shooting deer.

If you have a suggestion send it to G5 they are receptive

When I bought mine, they may not have been as sharp as some others, but with about 5 minutes of total work...they were honed up nicely. That is one of the things I really like about these heads, the ability to put an edge on them after a missed shot or practice shots!!

Most of the sharpness comments came when the heads were first released, and were made about the actual hunting head, not the practice head. I believe G5 has since changed either the material the head is made out of, the sharpening process, or both, and they are supposed to be much better than they were. Most comments I heard were about the sharpness not holding it's edge, and guys having a tough time when resharpening them. Haven't heard anything lately though.....

For my money, I don't think you can beat the sharpness of the NAP blades, but that's just me. I think any broadhead will kill a deer dead if you hit it in the right spot!

I've thought about trying them several times but I keep going back to the nitrons. They work excellent with my samll diameter axis arrows and have yet to let me down. The G5's would be my next choice though.

the material and manufacturing process is the same, with the exception of the sharpening, they are sharper than before.

I switched to them last year and I bought 2 more 3 packs. I shot 3 deer with them lat year and 2 this year. The farthest I had to track any of them was 80 yards. 3 of them dropped in sight. Great head IMO
