I have a good price on 2013 defy, issue being I would need to purchase new cams...looking at 150 for the first and only quote I have...probably can find them a bit cheaper if I look around. I also can't get anyone to swap the cams...in any event the used bow price is very good. However when I add the cams into the mix I might as well order a new bow and save the hassle.....I am passing till I find one with the cams I need.
    My search continued ...

Nick, that is too bad that your draw is too long, that has to sniff monkey cajonas when that happens...especially on a bow that is that sweet, that you REALLY wanna own! i wonder if you could maybe get a little more out of the length by taking a couple of twists out of the cables...and then you could shoot with a longer d loop and maybe adjust your release or try a different style...then again, you are going to give up a little performance...and if you are happy with your centroid, what is the point right.

trial, maybe you could talk to the dealer and see if maybe they would just do a cam swap...maybe they could even call prime and see if they would. i know my hoyt dealer will swap out mods, for the right one for people for free if they trade their mods...but mods are obviously different than a whole cam swap. but hopefully prime would see like, 'hey, it is a new bow...that this guy may not otherwise ever buy, and our bows are so great that we know we would probably have a customer for life..." or something along those lines. i mean, you would think if the bow is new, at a dealer(which may not be the case here???), then i honestly dont see why prime would not just ship the correct size cams, and have the dealer ship them the other cams....not like they could not check them and put them on another bow...who knows. i do know i will be shooting one as soon as i get back to the cabin, and may end up with one. i know the centroid i had was an amazing shooting bow...and if these new ones are better yet...wow, cant wait to shoot one. i will post it when i do, and maybe even a pic of my new bow! wink wink...but shhhh, dont let my wifey know...but then again, i sell my babies(i breed high end boa constrictors) to buy my toys...but she sometimes get mad when i have several new bows a year...bills are paid, go figure that she would complain! lol

lol, move on dude...for real. seems pretty funny that ANYTIME someone is not bowing down to the 'almighty mathews' that mathews fanboys get all butt hurt and cry...instantly pullin the 'HATER card' ....is it seriously even possible that not every person who shoots a bow is brainwashed with all the advertising and getting paid off to shoot that brand. i like mathews, i love matt mcpherson, he is one of the greatest people in archery...am i just a hater because i would shoot about four brands before i chose mathews? seriously...get over yourself! move on! my switchback blew a limb, my sb xt had bearing problems in the idler wheel, and had a crack in the cam...both of my drenalins creaked worse than a 90 year old woman in a rockin chair....i dropped one of my drenalins in my driveway, on the bottom cam...and it derailed like a trainwreck, blew out both limbs, and the axle on the idler bent...they took awesome care of me every time...i have never had issues with about five other brands, so if you STILL think my opionion is 'trolling" and not totally legit, you need to get over yourself or go hang out with the other holier than thou mathews shooters that believe there has never been an issue with ANY MATHEWS TO EVER GRACE THIS EARTH, and anyone with anything but worship and admiration of these bows should be shot....it is guys like you that give soooo many people negative feelings toward the general mathews shooting archers...because honestly, i see it more with mathews and *** shooters than all others combined. i like a lot of brands, although i do have my favorite...i dont get all butt hurt and cry like a little girl every time someone does not like my brand, to each his own...shoot what you like, and like what you shoot...and for God's sake man, quit letting it get you all bummed out every time some one may not care for what ever bow is your particular favorite...and dont waste the finger tapping to type a reply, because i am done with this...it is bad enough that it got this out of hand on NICKS post anyways...Nick, i am sorry for this, but i had to at least explain where i was coming from...all because i dont worship a certain brand! rediculous..

your anger makes you seem more trollish. You're reading a lot of stuff into my post that's not actually there. I don't think everyone should shoot mathews. Shoot whatever you like. I didn't think I was going to get a mathes, I was leaning toward the spyder 30 but ended up with the bow that wanted to come home with me.
I just wanted to know if you had any actual reasons for your vitriol. It sounds to me like you were well taken care of and I'm not sure you can blame the brand for your "issues". Mechanical systems fail, nothing is flawless and works forever. Especially when they are dropped abused or misused.

I'm glad you're happy with what you shoot, not everyone can shoot the same brand, nor should they. I think people should go shoot and handle as many bows and brands as possible before letting the bow pick you. Like I said I thought I was gonna end up with a hoyt and i really like the feel of their grips but in the end the zxt was just the right bow for me. Again, no hate, not looking down my nose at anyone not shooting my brand. I simply wanted to know your thought process if you had one. Vague generalization accompanied by so much anger will always appear to be a troll.

i like mathews, and they are good bows. i have had four, and had issue with them all...and yes, they took great care of me. i think other bows are better, my opinion...so that is what i shoot...i too, hope you are happy with your bow, it is a great bow...but for me, they are not the best. i am not angry or upset at anyone, not even you....sometimes i just say how i feel. no hard feeling here, and i would have no problem shooting or even hunting with you...but i have my reasons that i dont shoot mathews right now, and if they make a bow that i like in the future...i have absolutely no problem giving them my money. i am very happy with my bows, and will continue to shoot them. good luck zxt, and shoot strait!

deerct did you ever end up buying? Im going to try to find a dealer near me with prime bows.

Also for the fight about matthews, im sure you guys read my other thread, but if you want my opinion I thought the matthews drew the smoothest and even. But heck thats all I could feel, I couldn't tell anything about hand shock or all the details!

Ended up with an Elite Hunter 29/60. Great bow, smooth, quiet and easy to draw.

My dealer still hasn't received any left handed Prime bows yet. I haven't been there in a while so he may have some. But I also just bought a Used Pulse so my stable is now full.

Defy is whAt hooked me but I did not like the grip at all, I ended up buying a ShiftLR because of the side plates and because of a better deal being a 2012 model. I still like it better than what Mathews had to offer..I wish this did say Mathews across it. I also needed a 30" bow because of deer blinds. I'm happy with it. I'm going to look a the Impact next, I have to wait for a good side job for extra cash though.

Shot the LH Defy and loved the bow with the exception if two things:

There was no valley at all and there was serious vibe on the shot. Many stabs later and still didn't help.

Can't get passed those two things.

Agreed. You would think that would happen before a bow goes on the shelf.

I love my Defy. Took less than an hour was sighted in at 75 yards. Can't wait till this fall to take it out hunting. By far the best bow I have ever shot. The Impact is also a great bow.

Let me start this off first by saying for the last 13 years I have been shooting a Mathews, the latest being a z7 extreme that I had up until this April. I was a "die hard" Mathews fan and didn't shoot any other brand. I needed new strings on the z7x so I went to my pro shop and while I was there I shot the Creed and the Chill. I was not impressed to the point that I felt that either bow was far superior to my z7x, so I had new custom strings put on it. Well when I went to go pick up the bow after the strings were done, I decided to shoot a Defy.
After about 3 shots through the Defy my mind was made up. I am now shooting a Prime Defy instead of the Mathews z7x I had. I feel that the Defy is a much better bow then both the Creed and the Chill. Quieter, faster, smoother, better draw, better at the shot, ETC. I am very happy with the Defy so far! I also shot the Impact but I like a shorter bow so went with the Defy. My father is also a diehard Mathews shooter and he is switching to the Impact himself.
I know of 6 people in the last month that have bought into either the Defy or Impact! They are awesome awesome bows!

I am still looking at a Defy. The issue being is the valley, not sure if I want to be pushing and pulling at full draw if I have to hold it for an animal to come out from behind a tree.

I just picked up my defy yesterday wow so far I'm impressed. I sold my vector 32 for this bow. I think the valley is perfect I still need to push a little but it's really similar to my v32 but has a smoother draw with a better wall. I also have no hand shock and is dead in hand. I shot the impact but also prefer the shorter ata. Before I bought this I shot the creed had creep but had no hand shock, spyder30 was the smoothest draw but the most vibe and noise.

Agreed! I met the lead designer/engineer of the Centroid & Shift at last year's IBO Triple Crown. He urged me to shoot one, but I explained I'm a south-paw... I rarely get to try before I buy. He went to his truck and grabbed a lefty Shift... sweetest thing I've ever shot.... ever!

I am going with the Defy. My guy was able to get the vibe out and with a stab it is even better.
