But if your watching this post JZ, you should consider a Pro staff member that you can call the redneck wizard. And make him from a state like, I don't know... NY. :) He could... Fix... That only weak portion of the show

All I want is a trail camera with the ability to have a setting for video during the day and pictures by night so the batteries don't die so fast. I haven't seen any with this ability

I would love a camera that isn't triggered by squirrels

Good thread. We are always trying to come up with innovations for the bowhunting community. We formed to do exactly that and released a few items bowhunters are finding useful. Bowhunters are in inventive group.

Great Idea HAHA. But I don't think I can be filmed, I still shake and act like I did when I was 14 when I harvest an animal. Kind of embarrassing at 43. As far as new ideas Im drawing a blank. I know when I see something new I am always like " WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT.."

The day I don't shake or get excited like a fat kid with a candy bar is the day I put away my bow forever.... Best feeling in the world besides a tight hug from my kids

I wouldn't mind a trail camera that recognizes and tasers trespassers. It would then place a GPS tracking chip on the body that uploaded to the local game warren's cell phone.

How about a silicone spray to seal boots that have holes and cracks.... I had a pair of last season's lacrosse's that had two holes so I bought that spray you see on TV that can repair gutters ( yes I'm that red neck) and it worked but I don't trust the residual smell

I sealed up one of my pairs of muck boots with an bike tire patch about 3 years ago and they are still going strong. Little bit of redneck ingenuity as i say.

How about a shot counter in your string stop so you know exactly how many shots are on your strings and cables.

How about a range finder that automatically lights up the correct pin for the range on your site.

I have a list of things I'd like to see. Some are new, some are reboots of existing products, some are just features that every product should have.

    - A new/updated version of HotMocs boot covers. They're the greatest thing ever made for keeping your feet warm but it looks like they went out of business.
    - A GREAT hunting/camera pack. Something that's actually designed by people who use the product in the field and understand how it should work. It needs to accommodate both a camera arm and some extra clothing when needed. Every pack I've tried is either too big, too small, or can't handle strapping a camera arm to the outside of it. Next to the camera, the arm is the most critical part of filming, yet nobody seems to take into account how to transport it. It's mind boggling.
    - All base layers should be mandated to have a thumb hole in the sleeve. I'm sick and tired of having to pull my base layer sleeves down every time I put a jacket or additional layer on over them.
    - Velcro should be outlawed from all hunting equipment. Period. You want to find a way for me to not purchase your product? Put the noisiest connection known to mankind on it.
    - All zippers should use the large teeth that are at least somewhat quiet. The second best way to get me to not buy your product is to put loud zippers on it.

I'm sure I'll think of more.

I think that the issue with GPS on the equipment would be the battery life. Putting it on whatever equipment would be easy but the battery (i am no expert at all) might have to be big or at least be charged every couple days. If it is too big then the thieves would just remove it.

I think that some sort of tracking device would be great if the issues (if they are issues) would be worked out.

As far as the Robot comment I agree that we rely too much on technology (as I type on the internet about technology) and need to get away from it in some cases. In my very little experience hunting I have had to track some deer that me and my brother in law have shot and it was AMAZING! I loved the feeling of shooting and tracking and dragging back to camp. I wouldn't want to replace the gratification of hauling your kill with a mechanical being at all. I know that technology is amazing in what it can do and how it can help but some things I personally enjoy doing without the assistance of tech. I do feel that advances in gear will make us better hunters but aren't necessarily needed.

Agree or Disagree this is just my opinion I could be wrong.

with or without new gear I am going to be hunting and enjoying the feeling of putting meat in the freezer and seeing the look on my children's face when they see me pulling a big buck out of the woods.

Oh and FYI my wife thinks I am irreplaceable (I've got her fooled pretty well):nana:
