So back home the first shot gun hunt was on last week and no bow hunting is aloud. Also no one is aloud to hunt on my piece of property, but one gang pushes all the bush around it. So i was out the weekend before hand to set my cams up because i assumed they would be pushing new near in to my unpressured property. After work today stopped by ran out to the bush to grab my camera from the field edge and top up my dripper...... and wouldnt you know it both were gone!!! So now im absolutely pissed off and trying to get to the bottom of it. Only plus side is there was a fress scrape right infront of my stand...
It's almost like you need a secret trail cam to watch your trail cams now... thieves are a disgusting breed.
Happened to me this year too...sucks. I just wish they would have left the memory card, they can have the camera if they need one that bad.
Would be great if you could somehow install code onto the card that could email you specifics from the device being used. Or just a virus that would incapacitate whatever they are using to try and view the images.
How about a self destruct button that would blow that baby up right in the bastards face!! Thief's make me sick and I am angry for ya!!
Do you know the gang that pushes the bush around your property? ive had camera stolen too and its sucks. Karma will get them someday
Put another one up...buy a bear trap, hide it right in front of the camera, make sure you remember where it is. and wait...
Wait? For the law suits? While it sucks, you'd be surprised how many rights the criminal still has while in a criminal act.
Put a GPS tracker in another cam and put it back in the exact same spot? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haha. i want to try every single one of your ideas. ive contacted several members of the gang and non seems to know anything about it.... makes me wonder which one of them actually took it haha. i keep driving by and seeing does in there every night this week and i hope to get back out this weekend. With this cold weather coming through and the rut starting up back home and the deer starting to calm down a bit, i hope the maker of the scrapes slides in for a nice kill shot!
The BHOD guys should talk to StealthCam about developing some sort of encryption in their trail cameras that allows only the owner to download the images once they've logged into a website. This would cause the trail camera to be un-usable to anyone except the owner. Also, their servers could notify the owner of the IP address of someone who logs into the site trying to access the images on the camera once it is reported stolen. It's one more step and the requirement of an internet connection to access your photos, but I think it'd be worth it to those people who get their trail cameras stolen or hunt in high traffic areas.
