Bowfishing fun shoots on Lake Shelbyville...... Saturday, July 17th. Meet at the ramp at Wolf Creek State Park. The Brass Carp shoot is going to be during the day on July 17th at the Wolf Creek boat ramp on Lake Shelbyville. The Brass Carp shoot will start at 11am on Saturday and run until 5pm. There is no entry fee as this is a fun shoot. The winner of the brass carp must be a member of the Illinois Bowfishers and who ever wins it, must bring the trophy back and put on the Brass Carp Tournament next year. The winner of the Brass Carp will the team that brings in the most common carp. It normally goes to the captain of the boat... but it's up to the winning team to pick the team member to take the brass carp home. (The fun shoot is open to non members too, so show up and have fun even if you're not members. Better yet.. join the club.) There is an optional big fish side pot which will be $10 per boat. (heaviest fish of any legal species) Drill and Grill... Shortly after 5pm Robow (Rob Grider) will be cooking dinner for all of us and then will explain the rules of the Drill and Grill fun shoot. It's another fun shoot so there is no entry fee for this either. This will be an evening shoot. I have no idea what the format will be. Rob will explain it at the shoot. I will have a few small prizes available (arrows and whatnot) too. This is a good excuse to get together and have fun. Bring your best smack down. The 'Coveted Brass Carp'.
