This afternoon, I took my sons fishing at my parents farm pond. It was raining...again....but we'd been looking forward to going all week, so we headed out. I caught 4 small bass right off the bat, then this big ole sow hit my lure. I caught her in about 3 feet of water, using a buzzbait. By far, the biggest bass I've ever caught. 8lbs 3 ounces, 25 1/8 inches long. I didn't have a stringer, bucket, or cooler.....so I threw her back. Getting it mounted never even crossed my mind at the time. Oh how I'm kicking my own butt now!!

Awesome bass Dave! Like someone said, you can always get a replica, I think they are the same price as a regular mount too.
huge bass! i hear ya on the rain, here too just wont seem to let us get a good weekend. might hit the white bass in WI later this week though....
Awesome fish! I'd prefer a replica to a mount anyway if the measurements are exact for a farmpond fish. Try and catch her again someday now!
That's awesome. IMO the most fun you can have bass fishing is watching them explode on a surface lure.
