Absolutely, happens year-around on our properties which are monitored as well as any anywhere. Typcially, we will see different bucks show up at several different times of year for various reasons. Starting with summer, bucks will often have a home range that varies depending on the food and cover offered at that time of year. As the seasons change so to will the bucks home range. In some cases, bucks will live several miles away during different times of the season. Then, during the rut, you will obviously have bucks traveling. It is amazing how far a bucks home range can truely be during the entire season though. We've noticed different bucks will travel several miles per night for no real reason. Food, water, and cover are all plentiful during the summers here. For some reason, primarily bordom - they can and do travel quite a bit throughout a year. Like anything though, whitetails have their own personality. Some are just reclusive, don't like other deer, they are loners. Others are as hyper and horny as a teenager at the prom. Usually the energetic die first, thus the bigger mature bucks will tend to be more seclusive. Just a few thoughts....
