I've seen this before, but I found it extremely odd still. I just got in today from a turkey hunting trip in far southern Alabama today, and while there I ran some trail cams. No pics of hogs as hoped for, but I did stumble upon a nice buck, ESPECIALLY for down there. He's what they call a "mounter". Anyway, as the date shows it is April 6th, and he has both sides still intact. Looks to be a crab clawed 3x4, and he showed up just 1.5 hrs before I came to check at the inbetween times for the IR filter. Check out the pics....and btw, this one buck has got me HOOKED on trailcams....it is a rush checking them to see what you have. My first official trail cam pics for 2009.
Trev, that is a dandy buck I have seen several over the years with full racks in April but they were usually Dinks, nothing like that one. good pics!!
Heck I don't either...it is 6 hours south of here, and I have spent 10 days there total over the last 3 years. I just happened to get some cool pics this time.
I copied a photo twice for some reason....here is the fourth shot I got of him that I forgot above. This was actually the first pic I scrolled across of him when checking, and I overlooked him the first time I saw it, lol.
If people sometimes see bucks up here with full racks during turkey season, I'd imagine down south they could keep them for a good deal longer. Probably not common though.. Nice pics, what a deer
When we have mild winters (like this year) it's not uncommon to see bucks with full racks during turkey season. Cool pics . You liking that Covert Cam?
