Yeah Fergie has been pretty quiet lately. We also haven't heard from CountryFamily, & Illinoishunter102. I leave Thursday morning for the Illinois gun season. Love getting together with family at deer camp its one of my favorite things.

Nothing today after an all day sit. Weather isn't helping at all. Was almost 60 at midday.

my guess is that Jfergus dropped a booner buck so big that his new ATV is too underpowered to get it out of the woods. Countryfamily and illinoishunter102 must be in the same boat. Its the only logical explanation!

Well boys the door has opened for me to still be able to get a buck on the ground for the team. Here in the not so great state of Illinois we can now use a bow during the gun season. So with that being said I will have a bow in hand the first two days trying to get it done. I will pick up the trusty shotgun on Sunday if needed.

Saturday is the opening of regular season by me. I will be hunting Thursday morning for the last time with my bow. Hopefully I can score on a doe

i think i will take both to the stand. Is that legal??? i would hate to have a Giant cruise by at 70 yds and not get a crack but if it lookex like something was gonna break the 40 yd mark i could reach for my bow.

I would think it is because you can carry multiple guns to the stand if you want to and since it is to fill your firearm tag it's not like they are separate tags in this case.

Well I am happy to say I shot a nice Buck Tuesday...For the contest though I am sad to say I shot him with a shotgun at 75 yards. I'll be back at it with my bow here eventually to put a doe down.
While not the biggest racked, he was mature and had a huge body...field dressed was well over 200#.

Still plan on putting a buck down with it. and ive hax some chances so my standards just might get lowered. :)

Well looks like we are still in top 3. A doe or bonus buck would pjt us back in 2nd. We can still do this. when i get back to town i will get my bow right and put some antlers on the ground. Good luck to everyone this weekend whether by gun or bow!

I was able to pick up a nice road kill buck the other day on the thruway while on my way home from college. Just finished the euro mount tonight along with finishing my 2016 bow buck. First picture is the road kill. It's massive. Scored 144-6/8" with just over a 14" inside spread. Second is my archery deer.

Hey guys sorry haven't check in for a while now. Season has been real slow. Passed on a small buck a few days ago and had a 120 about 80 yards and haven't seen anything besides those two. Will be back out this weekend.

Well no luck for me during the IL gun season. The high winds really kept the deer bedded down all day. Hoping to get back to bowhunting probably the first week of December.
