I like the name! How did everyone make out last year for deer? I killed a small 7 for around my area. Was devoted mostly to getting my girlfriend her first deer with a bow and it was a success. She harvested a young doe at 15 yards. Only minimal tears were shed.

nothing good past couple years. we passed alot of does cause of ehd and Coyote infestation. had one good encounter last year with a hit lister of mine. Cleaned up some coyotes though and our properties are looking pretty good. lots of sign.

I had a good year last year. Killed a decent non typical 12 and an 8 point to go along with a handful of does(all with the bow). Also my then 11 year old killed his first buck during youth hunt.

If there's one thing I like doing just as much as bow hunting deer, it's coyote hunting.

Last yr I got a little greedy and passed up a shot on a pretty decent buck because I had a few bigger running around. Long story short no buck tag filled. I was able to tag two does though.

I shot a decent 8 pt. probably 120" and a doe last year, but I think that's pretty good for having a daughter born Oct. 13th and my wife and other girl both have Birthdays in November...how'd I get so lucky:eek2:
Man I hope they grow up to love hunting some day

I saw him day 2 of a 10 day hunt and while it would have been my biggest bow buck by far I second guessed myself and the deer so i decided to pass. As soon as he walked away I was kicking myself.

I have since reevaluated my hunt expectations and will not bemaking that mistake again

I feel like any time you second guess on killing a deer, it's best to pass anyways. I've never shot well when I have to talk myself into shooting. This year you'll shoot your personal best, you've got the best team supporting you!

I've kicked myself for letting a few walk. One of them that i passed four times we saw as we were in the truck leaving, not even an hour after I passed him, my buddy couldn't believe I passed him. Idk why I didn't shoot him. I guess he was just more fun to watch he put a show on every encounter. he was prob 130-135"

My second guessing really originated from drinking the big buck management kool-aid. I was worried the other couple guys who hunt our place would give me guff for taking a buck that could possibly go another year. Well the more I thought about it the more I thought screw them if I want to shoot a deer on my property that makes me happy then I am going to do it even if it might go against some of our management philosophy

    ***Team 4- Official Thread

Here's a story for you. A lot of people I tell think I'm just blowing smoke. It happened the season of 2013. But all through bow season I had been hunting a ten point that I had the yearling sheds, 2 year old sheds and 3 year old sheds. With three sightings during bow season and one time at full draw, I couldn't close the deal. Opening day of shotgun rolls around and it's just getting to be light. It was crystal clear, barely any wind, with frost on the ground. I hear the first shots of the morning followed by some light russling of leaves. I look to my left and here comes two frost backed does over a little rise below me. They are being trailed by no other than the big ten. Every breath of his I can see the steam come out of his mouth. He follows the does right under my stand. I could of shot him ten times over but I was so caught up in watching him in all his glory, I just couldn't ruin it with a boom. I let him go and he ended up making it through the season. He's bigger and badder than ever this year. I won't be passing him the next time we meet that's for sure
