I'm looking for the best option for hand warmers and wonder if anyone has experience with the fuel-based hand warmers like Zippos? Or are the throw-away kind better?

Good question. My feet are always what get me so I may cough up the $$ for the battery powered toe warmers.

I haven't used the fuel based ones in many years, so they may have improved, but I didn't care for them. They would get much hotter, so I had to switch them from one pocket to another several times a day. They also had an odor. I like chemical hand warmers much better.
