I hear they are crying because FSU isn't a member of the AAU, the AAU is a prestigious academic research fraternity of 62 Universities. (everyone else in the Big is a member of the AAU except for Nebraska who lost their membership last year).

I think it is smoke screen for them being scared of slipping further behind in B1G football.

We have enough issues with the thugs to the south, we do not need more thugs to the south:)

Any proof or just rumors at this point?

Just message board rumors right now. They've been around since the last round of realignment.

I don't see it. FSU joining the B1G makes no sense on many different levels.

Even Urban can't win them all. Not too surprised he is coming to the Vols, but I was surprised he committed so soon.

Word is, for the 11th consecutive year, Florida State football is back!!

FSU hasn't been relevant in a decade. Urban almost single handedly ran their program into the ground when he was at UF, and I'm sure he'd take great pride in beating them every single year again if they joined the Big 10.

Cody, you are right... About them being "back" every singe year. They recruit very well, have some really good players at times but never put it all together, even in the ACC.

Just the intrigue of FSU being in the B1G, I love the idea. I would love to go to a tOSU at FSU football game. I'd love to see the dude on the horse charge midfield and spear their logo. One of the great traditions in all of college football. One of the coolest for sure.

As much as I hate to say it, I do agree. The flaming spear is pretty bad ***. Also, I've always thought the war chant was pretty BA too. If was a recruit and visited a primetime night game at FSU playing against Florida, Clemson, Miami, etc. and the whole crowd started doing the war chant.. it'd be hard not to commit on the spot.

I agree the the war chant and tomahawk arm wave thing are pretty awesome. I guess all in all, I am a fan of FSU without being a fan. As I do not care if they win or lose, do not follow anything about their program, but do like to watch them.

FSU to the Big, hope it gets done!

Geographically and academically. I'd say athletically, but outside of football I'm not sure they are successful in any other sport. The only positive I see is opening up another area of recruiting, but I don't think B1G schools have any issues recruiting Florida as it stands.

To the B1G it is all about expanding their brand. The B1G ten network in Florida would be killer for all involved.

FSU has actually applied for acceptance into the AAU, they very well could be accepted by them.

FSU is pretty competitive in basketball and baseball. I'm not sure how they fair in women's sports, but overall they're a pretty solid athletic program top to bottom.

If FSU does leave i think they would become better because of the competition. I wish clemson would follow cause the competition in ACC football is garbage. I think they would both become better football teams.
