I was able to get out hunting today, and went to a place that had alot of nice intersecting trails and shooting lanes from the ground(i don't have a stand yet). So i was sitting looking back and forth infront of me just scanning what was going on. Then i hear some cracking behind me...i slowly turn around and see a nice 4 point buck about 10 yards away. It's in a spot i can't get a shot on, so i wait on it for a bit...but he picks me up and is standing there. I am able to get my bow up and drawn, but just as i get the sight on him, he bolts. I let my draw down and then i see the 8 pointer right behind where the 1st buck came out...and as I'm letting down, he bolts. Ugh!!! I just needed 2 more seconds and i would have had at least a 4 point. Also wish i would have seen the 8 pointer sooner! At least i know what's around here. Plus I've seen a few more nice bucks around. It was a good day...just could have been better.
