From the camcorder to the computer

I have the Canon Vixia HF R400. I have it filming avchd format ( or something like that other option is MP4) set at 60p quality. I am trying to get into widows movie maker. Do I need to lower the quality to do so ?

Any other tips for self filming / uploading / editing appreciated !

I'm not to much of a tech wiz but our hd video will only play on my newest computer. How old is the computer and what system you running?

Not sure how old, but it is running vista.

 

Kinda got it figured out

Used format factory to change the for format and was able to get the clips in wwm. Just need to learn how to use it now
