I used their Big n Beasty once when we first started putting plots in. It grew fine, but we have not used any since.

Never seen their labels up close enough to judge their mixes personally. May be solid mixes or could be like so many others throwing in wasted inert matter, ryegrasses or fescue....labels tell the story!

Big N Beasty I have actually had good luck with. No filler seed. I have learned on thing about it though. you MUST use lots of Nitrogen. They use a lot of varieties that are large tuber producers. They recommend fertilizing twice. Once at planting time and top dressing 6 weeks later. if you do that it will grow huge plants

#1 mistake by any brassica plotters that have bulb/tuber style plants in mix. THEY LOVE AND NEED serious amounts of Nitrogen.

That explains why my crop looked like crap last year. Thanks Tyn!

We usually unless a newly turned spot (if that is the case let the germination occur to hopefully beat out weeds germing) will fertilize at planting (usually August sometime) and then again about 21-28 days later again with Urea (nitrogen)

Had the best brassicas I have ever seen with it. Been a number of years since I have used it. I did plant it again this year. Will see how they do again this year with. Triple 18 at seeding. Might try some Milorganite or triple 10 later.
