Back in the day, we would go into the chowhall get a couple slices of french toast, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and bacon. We'd make it into a sandwich and be back out the door within 2 minutes tops. I'm sure they aren't good for me, but darn I still have cravings for those french toast sandwiches!
Hook, looks like a deer got your your bagel first I agree though, in fact, I'll take it a step further and say french toast is one of my least favorite. It's only redeeming quality is that you can put syrup on it.
I spent a month in England when I was 17. 1 week of that I stayed with a host family. I remember how I thought the breakfast food looked so similar to what we have here in the states, but had a distinctively different taste. Not bad, just different and took some adjusting to.
I'm more of a Belgian Waffle guy, with eggs over easy and some good link sausage. Only becasue I love syrup! Hooker's eggs Benedict would also do nicely.
French Toast makes me fart like you've never seen or smelled a human in your life. Allday long everytime I eat it. Which is rare now, because I'm banned from it. Too bad, because I really like it.
NOT!!!!!!! I spent almost a month in the Officers Ward of the British Military Hospital in Hong Kong. Worst damn food I ever had. They didn't know what salt or pepper or any of that stuff was. They did have a way of treating you right though. They had a daily liquour ration or beer for officers. I wasn't allowed to have any because of my near death malaria episode. I got to watch everyone else enjoy while I got water.
Second the terrible English cooking.... the wife an I couldn't wait to get to France if no other reason then we needed a decent meal.
Eggs over easy, bacon, fried Taters, and toast with homemade apple butter is my #1. Had it this morning actually.
French toast is my absolute LEAST favorite breakfast...stuffs nasty. In no particular order; Biscuits and Gravy Eggs Benedict Huckleberry Pancakes and Bacon Corned Beef Hash with eggs and Hashbrowns Denver Omelet
