I have a brand new Summit Safety harness, still in the bag and never used that I would like to give to someone who needs it. If I can help just one person stay safer while hunting out of a stand, I will feel much better. I'm tired of reading or hearing on the news about someone needlessly falling and getting hurt or worse, killed because they didn't wear a harness. All of us hunters, especially on this board, are like brothers and we need to all look out for one another.

All I ask for in return is that you visit my blog, http://autumn-encounters.blogspot.com and leave a comment on the post about the harness there. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. I started the blog, to kill time and give me some place to ramble on. Also, click on a advertisement or two to help me out... baby needs shoes!

    Thanks everyone.

I need a harness. I have one more stand thAn I have harnesses. I can't bring myself to pay 100 bucks for a hunters safety system.

I am set with a safty harness with a couple extra myself. Now that the daughter is going with I will need them due to one being smaller than the other for when she gets a little bigger. That is a good thing you are offering and I totally agree with the cause of helping everyone stay safe. A buddy and his father went out and his dad fell out of the stand to catch a screw in step under his chin that ended up doing a lot of damage including stabbing through his skin. He is ok now but will never ever hunt without one now. He is all over his boy now to use one and does. I came close one time and ever since I dont feel right sitting there without being strapped to tree. I guess that is a good thing! Thanks for sharing your story! I really enjoy blogging myself! Here is the blog that I have started! Have saved yours to my favorites so I will be keeping tabs on you he he he! Good luck and knock them big ones dead! To the hunt! I just do my blog for me and if people check it out they do or if not they dont. I also do mine on my shed hunting too. This is the first year for hunting and I did two so far on my shed hunting. They are all on my facebook page also for all of you that have me as a friend. I dont ask for anything but read it and have a good time with a great season to back it up.

never had one, the older you get the more you think about falling out of the tree.
I'm 58 and not ready to die.
would like to spend a couple more years with my grandson in the woods.
    my girls would miss me,
    I don't want to be a paraplegic,
    send to me I'll wear.

Hey everyone, I didn't get too many guys on here saying they need a harness. Hopefully that means everyone is already wearing one. I have one guy I haven't heard back from yet.

    Last call!

if i didnt already have a harness, id tottally be hitting you up right now. but i have one, i think its a summit, dont remember. but not only do i want to wear mine, the army makes me wear it. if i fall out of a stand and die not wearing a harness, my wife and kids dont get that nice life insurance policy the army gave me. i hope someone takes it, someone that needs it at least.

I need one, but they are so expensive. I hunt pretty low in stands for that reason. I've thought about using seat belts just so I don't fall and hurt or kill myself. I know it's not smart, but money is pretty tight right now. I am not trying to make this a sob story. I know I'm to blame. Just throwing out there if anyone else has a harness that they don't need, and want to send someone who would be very grateful and would use it everytime, I'd gladly take it. Thank you for doing what you did muzzyman, you may have very well saved someone's life. How very noble of you.

FEB... outstanding buddy! Thanks guys for the compliments. I honestly didn't do it for all the attention, just trying to help out "the family" and hopefully keep a fellow hunter safer.

I didn't imagine this would turn into something that would have others offering up their spare harnesses. VERY COOL!

If someone didn't speak up because others had already asked, I also have one that I can give away. It came with my summit climber, and I think I have used it all of 4 times since I got it for the 2008 season. Manufacture date is July, 2007 and says it is good for 5 years so still has several seasons left on it. I use a HSS and do not need this one.
Just to be clear, it is just the harness will not come wit the prussic knot/lifeline. I can probably throw in the tether that came with my HSS if need be.

Well, as a complete bowhunting newb starting my rookie season, I'll gladly take someone up on the safety harness offer. My wife will be eternally grateful to know I'm still alive HANGING from my tree after a bad case of buck fever. :)

    Live2Draw - ck your PMs.

    Thanks all.

I would be more than willing to take one off your hands Live2Draw. However I probably won't own a stand until next year so if some one else needs sooner give it to them.
