That is the PERFECT name for that buck. Medusa!!! That is one ugly, but cool looking, freak of a buck!!
I've seen several similar pics and they generally tend to be antlered does. They don't produce the correct hormones for proper antler structure or velvet shedding, rubbing activity and their necks are generally just like a doe's this time of year, larger than normal but not like a bucks.
My current boss who is an excellent bowhunter, shot a "Medussa" buck many years ago. It looked crazy like that and it was from public land.
Could be an antlered doe or could be a buck without testicles!! I have seen that twice here in jersey where they were missing!
This was shot at a hunt club i hunt with every now and then in goochland county! they kill monsters every year! Every time i go one or two people will kill a wallhanger
I talked to a guy one time who used to live and work out in CO on a ranch that said while they were haying every year, they would find a few Mule deer buck fawns and intentionally castrate them. He said it made them grow freakish oddball racks and every year the ranch owner would sell hunts and a few non-typical brutes were taken for big money.
