From all Yankees fans, thanks Red Sox for letting Francona go. Guy won you twice as many Championships in 8 years than your franchise won in a century and you're firing him? hahahahahha good move. And the better replacement would be?

I hear rumors that he is the one that is asking out. Not sure which way it is, but either way:tu:

Yeah, I can't believe this either.

If he wants out fine....but if they are firing him, that's just stupid.

As a Red Sox fan, you cannot blame the collapse on one man. There are management issues throughout the team, but unfortunately, as it is in professional sports, it seems managers/coaches take the fall. If he's asking out, you can also wonder if the problem isn't upper management (Epstein).

You couldn't be more correct. As a long suffering Orioles fan I know first hand changing managers and front office staff isn't always the fix.

Already conceded the loss my friend and it's not going to phase me. Verlander is simply too dominate to face twice in a 5 game series. In my mind Detroit goes into this series up 2-0. Yankees are one more ace away from making a serious run at another ... ahem... yes ANOTHER world series. Only hope is for Sabathia to keep it close, get Verlanders pitch count up and hope to win it from their bullpen. Tough task since the guy is a strike throwing machine (and quality ones).
