I found this skull in a Swamp pit where I set my blind up yesterday. I put it in a bucket of bleach to clean it up. What should I do with it or use it for? [IMG]

Umm that would mean there are some good size deer in your area. I would hang it up next to the gnarly buck you will kill this season.

Use it for soup stock...looks like there's a little flavor left in it.

The bleach will ruin it. It soaks into the bone and eats it up. It will get soft and be like chalk.

The bone soaks it up and then gets soft. Bleach is really hard on skulls. Just saying that you might not want to do that with a deer u shoot.

Done that on a found head years ago , it will start falling apart .

Don't know your local laws but make sure you contact your local agent if necessary. Here in Missouri we have 24 hours after finding a head to do so . Nice find !!

Maybe putting some sort of lacquer on it would help? I don't know since I've never done it but thought it might work. I think it makes a pretty nice hat rack to me.

I boil all of mine and then let the skull soak in peroxide for a couple days. It takes away all the smell and the skull turns out a very nice white with no flaking or softening.

I know this will sound crazy but I put my heads in a large fire ant pile. They will clean it up pretty good.
