To be fair I can recall doing something similar to this as a kid. However, it was on family owned ground. I can recall being so bored that my best friend and i decided we wanted to build our own makeshift cabin in the woods. Kids build "forts" all of the time. Seems like nothing more than that in my opinion.

Hey. Anything new? I imagine you have a whole cult living back there by now!

I built similar forts as a kid with my friends - nothing quite as big and impressive as this. But definitely went into woods and did this without a care in the world who owned the woods or who might find us - it wasn't even a consideration. Interesting thread for sure

So it's been almost a year. Has the OP found this mysterious cult who has been building on his land?

It’s possible he joined them and now lives in that shelter and goes by the name Mother Shabooboo

    They got him

I believe it was kid's. I don't know why people would think that kid's couldn't or wouldn't build that. A friend and I built a 12×12 foot cabin with a door, fireplace, window, fully chinked and a clay floor. Took us most of the winter one year, two ax and two 3 wheelers. We were 13 year's old at the time. It's still standing 31 year's later up on the ridge behind my parents place.

I wouldn't doubt him. Heck at like ten or eleven years old he was making his own forts and sleeping in the woods overnight.....while wearing a pistol on his hip. Not kidding....

Hahaha...my mom would drop me off out at the State Forest on Friday evening and come back and get me on Sunday evening all the time, lol....I had alot of fun growing. I was 12 when I taught myself to flint knap....14 when I killed a deer with a self bow, arrow, string and arrowhead that I made all myself.

I am sorry to hear that Josh. I am sure you could write a book about your Dad and all his adventures and knowledge.
